Summer is in full swing here~ We've returned to the three fold pond as we feel the most comfortable here. It's so nice to be with familiar faces and enjoy the cool water amongst nature. The co-op (neighborhood small market) is in walking distance, and Ryker's enjoying the organic strawberries from there.
Little Asher at 8 months old is thoroughly enjoying the water;-) He splashes and splashes, oh what joy it is to witness such wonder and excitement~

I had the pure pleasure of experiencing a Blessingway today. It was an amazing experience to be showered with such powerful and empowering poems and blessings! My good friend, Susan, put together the most beautiful ceremony for me and I'm so very grateful for this thoughtful gift. Now I'm ready to give birth:-)

Then there was another exciting attraction as one family brought their chicks that they incubated from eggs. These chicks were so cute and sweet! Fun time was had by all, and I'm so grateful for our energetic community:-)
The boys noticed a donation box at Wholefoods one day. We also wanted to send some donation to Haiti so we made this Love Jar last week to collect money.
The boys even took it to pottery class with some cookies we made:)
We wanted to celebrate winter solstice with some of our Waldorf homeschooling friends. I was debating if I should have the spiral walk in my house because I didn't have any greenery to make the spiral with. After much thought, I decided to just use some wooden blocks on hand. But as I was scurring about, getting prepared to make the circle, Mason brought over the silk basket and started to make the spiral out of that! He seemed to have a clear vision of how it should be done, even saying that that's how we did it before:-) I guess years of participating in the festivals, he knows what to do! You can see our spiral about 4 years ago here.
It was simply beautiful, and so very magical. We could feel the reverence and the mood of the darkness as light filled the room. As the dark room got lighter with each light, I could feel the warmth in my heart. Even though the children were buzzing with excitement before the spiral, everyone got very quiet as we hummed a song and watched each person walk the spiral. It was just so beautiful when the room was filled with so many candle lights! I'm just so grateful for the experience and for our new friends coming together today...
I'm so happy that we got to participate in this magical festival with the local Waldorf community. The crafts were delightful for the children and I got some yummy gifts to share. There was a wonderful live music and delicious food. And yes, lots of baked goods:-) It was so fun to see homeschool friends and to hang out together in this beautiful atmosphere.
Here's a little doll that I fell in love with! He is just so precious! I should have taken more pictures of all the cute handwork display, as there was a lot of talent there, but I was busy enjoying the moment:-)

Ahhh, a warm fire place:-) This is a big difference from our Southern Cal pumpkin patch last year when we were all sweaty from the heat!
We ran into our friend who breeds dogs, and even got to snuggle with this cute little puppy! He is sooooo cute and just the sweetest little pup:-) If you're interested in the puppy (there are 5 more), you can contact me (melody@mommychick.com) and I'll forward the info to my friend.
I just love, love, love the fall here! Funny how people who live here take this beauty for granted, like I did with Hawaii when I grew up there:-) The colors are breath-taking, and the crisp air is so refreshing. We're thoroughly enjoying the change of season here.
It was so nice to be able to participate in this Waldorf fall fair. It was like being back home but also very different. We're also very blessed to have made so many wonderful new friends, and running into them at the fair made our day that much more special. People here are warm and friendly, and I truly feel as though we've lived here for years instead of just a few months...
