I made this picture with Mason when he was just three years old. He made the squirrel all by himself! This picture was on the home page for Full Circle yahoo group.
I covered a foam core board with flannel fabric. I just hot glued the edges in the back. I then used different colored wool rovings to create a picture. No tools are needed, just pull off a little bit of wool and place it on the flannel board, it'll stick! If you don't have wool rovings, but knit, you may have some bits of wool yarn available. Snip off a little and start to unravel and fluff up the wool. There's your wool!
*tip with those left over "tails" of yarn:
Save them! I collect any ends of wool yarn in a little plastic bag until ready to use. My boys like to help me unravel them and make them into colorful wool. This is a great quiet time activity as little ones are so captivated by it!
