It's been raining a lot over here, so we've been taking advantage of the cooler weather and getting  inspired by the change of season. It's amazing how the fall weather seemed to hit us all of a sudden and we notice the leaves falling... So we made some warm drinks, baked bread, and did some leaf rubbings with our beeswax block crayons~

I then made a felt leaf streamer after being inspired by this blog.

I just love love this season, and we're all looking forward to the fall fair at the local Waldorf school next weekend!  ~Happy Autumn, everyone~

Is this not THE perfect piece for me? Tee hee:-) If you know me, you know that I absolutely adore toadstools and what's more, I love orange! So when I saw this at the local thrift store (the only one that I've been to here in the east coast), I just about flipped out! It goes so perfectly next to my gold couch(that I had since we got married 16 years ago) and what else, my orange pillows! :-)

:: corners of our home ::

It's been snowing...a...lot, so we've been staying warm and cozy indoors;-) Here are a couple of snow shots from inside our home. I love how white and beautiful it is outside~

 

 

And I also LOVE all the colors in my creative studio. This room makes me oh so happy:-) The baby canopy on the left has a mobile that Mason made. He's such a sweet and caring big brother~

:: Caterpillar to butterfly ::

Mason found a couple of Monarch caterpillars at the park with a help of another homeschooled friend. We picked a bunch of milkweed leaves to take home with us to feed the caterpillars.

 

A couple of days of munching on the leaves, one caterpillare turned into a chrysalis! It was an amazing

 process to witness... The other caterpillar followed a day later. See you two in a couple of weeks!

  

 

About two weeks later, we noticed that the chrysalis was turning more transparent... we could see the butterfly wings inside!!! I think it's really really close!

 

Sure enough, the butterfly emerged and stayed there to dry its wings. Simply beautiful!!!

 

  

What a remarkable experience this was to witness such a transformation! How abundant our life is! The nature around us is such a great example of this truth!

:: what we are doing now ::

Ryker (who just turned three) is really into cutting paper lately;-) He's been very focused on it...cutting for literally, hours at a time. It's such a joy to observe him completely absorbed in his task. He's utilizing a new skill and making up stories with his bits of paper that he cut up. So very cute!

Oh, how I just love this age! The world is such an interesting place for him, full of wonder and discoveries!

  

Snow Storm

It's so magical to see snow falling. We had a big storm and it snowed and snowed... Now this is what I've been waiting for:-) We had snow before, but not so much. This time, it meant business! There was definitely enough snow to last a while. The boys were ecstatic. The roads were covered so much so that my hubby stayed home instead of going into his office to work:-)
