.: Baby's environment :.

Asher at 10 months is very busy busy busy:-) He loves exploring the cupboards in the kitchen...taking out bowls and canteens. Oh, so much fun! I must get a picture next time when he's in the dishwasher! He get's so very excited when he sees the dishwasher door open! Oh, how he crawls over so quickly! Tee hee, it's actually quite entertaining to watch him light up when we're doing our usual thing of cooking and cleaning up.

I'm very relaxed about Asher exploring his environment. Almost nothing is off limits because I'm right there next to him. Well, nothing super sharp and dangerous or toxic like that, but you know what I mean;-) I don't limit him to "baby toys". He actually don't have much "toys". I've noticed that children, even babies, prefer real life objects over plastic pretend toys.

He's learning so much about his environment and about relationships... This is a perfect time to exchange things with them and play "please" and "thank you". He loves to hand over things to me and delights in the interaction so very much.

We're so fortunate to be able to go out into nature whenever we wish to...

Today was especially beautiful as the weather is becoming cooler and the air is crisp~ It is especially heart-warming to see my 4 year old & 9 year old holding hands as we all took a walk in the woods.

So grateful for their close relationship and all that our life has to offer our family.

:: Baby Photoshoot ::

 

Mason decided to do an impromptu photoshoot last night. He set up this cozy nook and made everyone comfy. He initially just wanted to do a penguin puppet show, but then he wanted to capture the moment;-) I wonder where he gets an idea like that? :-)

:: what's cooking ::

Gabriel's whipping up a yummy spinach and cheese omelet for us this morning. It's so nice to witness how capable a 12 year old boy can be.

Not just capable, but also sweet and thoughtful;-)

 

 

 

 Our newest addition, Asher, just adores his biggest brother.

 It's so sweet to witness so much tenderness between the brothers. Time seems to stop for these moments...

 

 

 

:: indoor gym ::

 

It's been raining and cold out so the boys made a racing track in our kitchen. While Ryker was riding his little car, the older boys borrowed my ad exercise rollers. I guess it comes in handy for something! I don't when I used it last...it really works though;-)

Snow Play

This was our first big snow storm, which brought us lots of good snow to play with. My boys went out in the storm and built an igloo. They worked really hard and enjoyed sitting inside with a camping lantern. 

Of course when they came in after some hard snow play, I had have some yummy hot drinks waiting for them:-)

Gotta Get In There!

My boys couldn't resist playing in the snow even though there wasn't much snow. My little one wanted to come in after a while since he doesn't even have gloves yet. Making a mental note to buy gloves:-) But, my older boys stayed out there for a long time, digging and gathering and building. It made me so happy to see them enjoying their environment so much. 

I remember a few years ago when we went to Tahoe for a vacation. The boys had sooooo much fun just playing in the snow, feeling and molding it. I remember that moment as I was watching them appreciating the element of snow, and etching the moment in my mind and heart. I realized then how enriching it is for them to experience that. Now that they can be in it right in their backyard, it's so very precious. We're very much appreciating this cold season!
